About

Oana Stefanescu is an author, an educator, an artist, a Reiki Master energy healer, and a mom of two.

Oana has been drawing, painting, and creating ever since she was little. Inspired by the many artworks that filled her aunt and uncle's home, close family friends that were artists or art collectors, the trips to delightful galleries and museums in Bucharest, Romania, and later visiting galleries and museums all around the world, Oana has always been deeply connected to the art world. While studying in university, she worked in Visitor's Services at the National Gallery of Canada where she shared in the love of art with numerous gallery visitors from all over the world.

While still in high school and during her university years, Oana exhibited her art in a couple of small art galleries, at the Romanian Embassy, and in a handful of coffee shops. She also participated in several art shows such us the Old Ottawa South Art and Music Festival, in Ottawa, Ontario.

While becoming a teacher, and later on a mom, Oana's desire to paint still remained strong, but it did have to be temporarily put aside.

Two children later, and a decade of teaching, lead to the inspirational position of a designated art teacher. As soon as she was back into contact with making art, Oana's artistic inspiration came back in full force. In September, of 2023, Oana taught her first class at her own art school, Soft Altitude Arts. She has been creating many new works since, but her focus is inspiring and supporting all of the artists that come to her studio and her classes.

Her creativity and artwork have also meshed with her writing and publishing! Oana has designed and created the covers of her two books, the stars within us: high frequency spiritual poetry, and vibrations of reality: poetry that bridges , as well as the cover for the beautiful Synonyms for Living poetry anthology, which is set for publication in August, 2024.

Oana has degrees in English Literature, in Art History and Theory, and in Education from the University of Ottawa.

Born in Romania, Oana currently lives in Canada with her family.
